Marketing campaigns

Set up campaigns to track which social posts, newsletters or ads bring customers to your business, and see which ones work.

Overview

A campaign tells you which marketing efforts bring in customers, such as a Facebook post, an email newsletter or a Google ad. You create one campaign for each effort, then check its results. Your campaigns live in Marketing → Campaign, and a summary of how they are performing is in Marketing → Overview.

Track a new campaign

This example sets up a campaign for a Facebook post aimed at new customers.

  1. Go to Marketing → Campaign.
  2. Tap Create campaign.
  3. In Name, enter a name you will recognise later, for example "New customer promo".
  4. In Description, explain what the campaign is for, for example "Facebook post offering first-visit treats".
  5. In Platform, choose where the campaign runs, for example Facebook.
  6. In Source, enter where the traffic comes from, for example facebook.
  7. In Medium, enter the type of marketing, for example social.
  8. In Campaign, enter a short identifier, for example new_customer_promo.
  9. Check your details, then tap create.

See which campaigns are working

  1. Go to Marketing → Campaign.
  2. Check the Total Conversions column for each campaign, for example "New customer promo".
  3. For a summary across all your campaigns, go to Marketing → Overview.

To see which campaigns drove signups and revenue, see Campaign attribution.

Edit a campaign

  1. Go to Marketing → Campaign.
  2. Tap the campaign name, for example "New customer promo".
  3. Make your changes and save.

Delete campaigns you no longer need

  2. Select the campaigns you want to remove.
  3. Open the actions menu and choose Delete.

FAQs

What is the difference between Source and Medium?

Source is the specific website or platform, such as facebook or google. Medium is the type of marketing, such as social, email or cpc (paid search).

What happens if I leave the tracking fields empty?

The campaign is still saved, but you will not get detailed results about where your customers came from.

Why is my marketing overview empty?

The overview only shows results once you have campaigns set up. Create your first campaign in Marketing → Campaign, and results appear as they come in.

Where do I set up WhatsApp, SMS or email messages?

Reusable messages are set up in Settings → Communications → Message template. Each template is tied to one type, so create a separate template for WhatsApp, SMS and email. For details, see Message templates.

What happens if I delete a message template a campaign is using?

It may still be sent as part of an active campaign. Check your campaigns before you delete a template, as deleting cannot be undone.
