Campaign attribution
See which marketing campaigns bring in new customers, appointments and purchases, and how much revenue they drive.
Overview
Use campaign attribution when you want to know which of your marketing campaigns actually bring in customers and revenue, so you can keep the ones that work and drop the ones that don't. It lists the actions customers take that can be linked back to a campaign, such as signing up, booking an appointment or making a purchase. You'll find it under Marketing → Campaign attribution.
Check which campaigns bring in customers
- Open Marketing from the main menu.
- Select Campaign attribution.
- Review the attribution events to see which customers came from which campaign.
- Review the conversions to see which of those customers went on to book or buy, and the revenue they brought in.
To set up a new campaign to track, see Marketing campaigns.
Understand events and conversions
The page shows two kinds of data:
- Attribution events – when a customer takes an action that can be linked back to one of your campaigns, such as signing up or making a purchase.
- Conversions – when a customer who came from a campaign goes on to do something valuable for your business, such as booking an appointment or making a purchase. Conversions include the revenue generated by these customers.
Together, they tell you not only how many people a campaign reached, but whether it led to real bookings and sales.
FAQs
Why don't I see any data for my campaign yet?
Attribution data appears only after customers interact with your campaign and take a trackable action in your business, such as signing up, booking or buying. A newly launched campaign may show nothing at first.
Can I see how much revenue a campaign made?
Yes. The conversion data shows the revenue generated by customers who came from each campaign.
How up to date is the data?
Events and conversions update as they happen, so you see campaign performance in near real time.
What's the difference between an event and a conversion?
An event is any action linked back to a campaign, such as a signup. A conversion is when a campaign-driven customer goes on to book an appointment or make a purchase.
