Receipt printer

Connect a Bluetooth or USB receipt printer to Bookit so you can print receipts at your front desk.

Overview

Connect a receipt printer when you want to print receipts for customers at your front desk. You pair Bluetooth and USB printers in settings → Devices, where card terminals are paired too. Once a printer is connected, you can adjust its print width and character encoding and send a test receipt.

Connect a receipt printer

Before you start, make sure the printer is switched on and in pairing mode.

  1. Go to settings → Devices.
  2. In Bluetooth devices or USB devices, depending on how your printer connects, tap Add.
  3. Select your printer from the list that appears.
  4. Wait while Bookit shows Connecting.
  5. Check that the printer now appears in your saved devices and is marked as active.

The Add button is disabled while Bookit is connecting, so you cannot start a second attempt by accident.

  1. Go to settings → Devices.
  2. Tap the card of your connected printer to open its settings.
  3. Use the test print option to send a sample receipt.

Change print width or character encoding

If receipts come out cut off or with strange characters, adjust the printer's settings.

  1. Go to settings → Devices.
  2. Tap the card of your saved printer.
  3. Change the print width or character encoding to match your printer.
  4. Print a test receipt to check the result.

Switch between printers

You can save several printers, but only one printer can be active at a time.

  1. On a saved printer's card, tap Disconnect to stop using it.
  2. On the printer you want to use, tap Connect.

Remove a printer you no longer use

  1. Tap the printer's card in settings → Devices.
  2. In the dialog that opens, choose to remove the printer.
