Audit log

See who changed what in Bookit over the past 60 days, such as a voided payment, a deleted service or an edited customer balance.

Overview

The audit log lists the changes made in Bookit and which team member made them, so you can answer questions like "who voided this payment?" or "who changed this customer's credit?". Each entry shows the Team member, the Date and the Event. Open it from Tools → Audit log, or from Settings → Business → Audit log. Entries are kept for 60 days.

Find out who made a change

In this example, a payment from yesterday was voided and you want to know who did it.

  1. Go to Tools → Audit log.
  2. Click Show filters.
  3. Choose Event and pick Voided payment.
  4. Choose Date and set it to on or after yesterday's date.
  5. Read the Team member column for each matching entry.
  6. Click the linked name in the Event column to open the payment itself.

See everything one team member did

  1. Go to Tools → Audit log.
  2. Click Show filters.
  3. Choose Team member and pick the person, for example Aina.
  4. Optional: add a Date filter to narrow it to a day or a week.

To see everyone except one person, choose the "is not" (!=) option on the Team member or Event filter.

Download the log

  1. Click the ⋯ (more) button at the top of the list.
  2. Click Download all for the entries loaded on screen, or tick some rows and click Download selected.

The CSV file has the same three columns: Team member, Date and Event. See Export lists to CSV.

FAQs

How far back does the audit log go?

60 days. Older entries are removed automatically, so download the log if you need to keep a record for longer.

Why don't I see Tools or Audit log?

The audit log under Settings → Business is only for business admins, and Tools only shows if your role includes it. Ask your business owner for access. See Team member permissions.

Does the audit log show what the value was before the change?

The Event column says what happened and to which item, such as "Updated balance for customer Pamela". Click the linked name to open the item and see its current details.

Can a team member delete an entry from the audit log?

No. Entries cannot be edited or deleted. They are removed only when they pass 60 days.

Is every action in Bookit recorded?

No. The log records changes, such as the events listed in What's recorded. Viewing a page or opening a report is not recorded. The Event filter lists every event you can filter by.
