Customer reports
See who your new customers are by age, gender and tag, and how often customers come back, when they visit and how much reward points and balance they hold.
Overview
Customer reports show who your new customers are and how your customers keep coming back. There are two reports. Customer signup breaks down the customers who joined in a period by age, gender and tag. Customer visit shows how many visits you had, how many different customers came, when in the day they visit, and the total reward points and balance your customers hold. Go to Reports and open the Customer reports card, then choose Customer signup or Customer visit.
See who your new customers are
- Go to Reports → Customer reports → Customer signup.
- Pick your dates in the date picker at the top of the page. The report opens on the past month.
- Read the three charts:
- New customers age distribution — how many new customers are each age, from 10 to 90.
- New customers gender distribution — new customers by gender.
- New customers tags distribution — new customers by customer tag.
A customer counts as new on the date they signed up with your business. The signup report covers your whole business, not just the branch you are in.
See how often customers come back
- Go to Reports → Customer reports → Customer visit.
- Pick your dates in the date picker at the top of the page. The report opens on the past month.
- Read Customers visit highlights for the headline figures: Total visits, Unique customers, Total reward points and Total balance.
- Check Customer visits over time for total visits and unique customers month by month.
- Check Popular visit hours to see the hours of the day when customers visit most.
Visits are counted for the branch you are in. A visit is recorded when a customer is attached to a checkout, so walk-in sales with no customer selected do not count.
Track reward points and balance over time
The Customer visit report also shows two trend charts below the visit charts:
- Reward points trends — the daily total of reward points your customers hold.
- Top up balance trends — the total account balance your customers hold over time.
These two charts cover your whole business. If you removed them, add them back with Add widget.
Add, move or remove widgets
- Click Add widget. A panel opens listing the widgets that are not on your page.
- Choose a widget to add it to the bottom of the page.
- Drag widgets to rearrange them.
- To go back to the default layout, open the menu next to Add widget and choose Reset layout.
When every widget is already on the page, the panel shows All widgets added.
How it's calculated
Total visits counts every checkout with a customer attached in the period. Unique customers counts each customer once, however many times they came.
Example: in March, Aisyah Rahman pays at checkout twice and Mei Ling pays once.
| Figure | Count |
|---|---|
| Total visits | 2 + 1 = 3 |
| Unique customers | 2 (Aisyah Rahman and Mei Ling) |
Total reward points and Total balance are not added up over the period. They show the total held across all your customers at the end of the selected period.
Ages in the signup report come from each customer's birth year.
FAQs
Why are some new customers missing from the age chart?
The age chart only includes customers whose profile has a birth year. Gender and tags work the same way: a customer appears only if that detail is filled in.
What does Not Defined mean in the tags chart?
The customer has a tag that Bookit can no longer match to one of your tags, for example because the tag was deleted.
Why is my visit count lower than my number of sales?
Only checkouts with a customer attached count as visits. Select the customer at checkout every time to keep the count accurate.
Why do the visit figures change when I switch branch?
Visits are counted per branch. The signup report, reward points and balance cover your whole business, so they stay the same.
Can I print the customer reports?
No. Unlike the appointments report, the customer reports have no print option. To get a customer list as a file, export it from your customer list. See Export lists to CSV.
