Appointments
Reserve with Google
Let customers find your business on Google Search and Maps and book through your Bookit online booking site, and check that your business qualifies.
Overview
Reserve with Google puts your bookable services on Google Search and Google Maps. When a customer finds your business on Google and chooses to book, they go to your Bookit online booking site to pick a service and time. Each of your branches appears on Google as its own location, with the services available at that branch.
Get your business ready for Google
Bookit only sends a branch to Google when it has everything Google needs to match it to your Google Business Profile listing. Check each of these before you ask support to turn it on.
- Go to settings → Business → General and choose your Business vertical: Hair salon, Beauty salon, Barber shop, Nail salon, Day spa, Health club / gym or Medical / clinic.
- Make sure your business has a Short code. It builds the link Google sends customers to.
- Go to settings → branches and open each branch. Fill in the street address, city, postcode and country.
- Click Validate address and save the branch. If you change the address later, validate it again.
- Go to Catalogues → Services and check that the services you want on Google are active and Visible online, and available at the right branches.
- On your online booking site settings, make sure Disable online booking is not ticked.
What customers see
When your business is live on Google, customers who find you on Search or Maps can choose to book. They land on your online booking site for that branch, where they pick a service, a time and, if you allow it, a team member. The appointment then appears on your Bookit calendar like any other online booking.
FAQs
Why isn't my business showing on Google?
A branch is left out when any of these is true:
- No Business vertical is chosen, or it is not one of the seven listed above.
- The branch address is missing the street, city, postcode or country, or the address was changed and not validated again.
- The branch has no active service that is Visible online and available at that branch.
- Disable online booking is ticked on your online booking site.
- Your subscription has expired or your business is closed, so it cannot take new bookings.
Fix the item and your business is included again. You don't need to ask support to turn it on a second time.
Do I need a Google Business Profile?
Yes. Google matches each branch to its Google Business Profile listing by name and address, so they should match. Your opening hours on Google come from that listing, not from Bookit.
Which services appear on Google?
Only services that are active and Visible online, at the branches they are available at. Hidden or inactive services are left out.
I changed a service. When does Google show the change?
Bookit sends your details to Google on a regular schedule, so changes appear on Google after the next update, not straight away.
I turned off online booking. Will I lose my place on Google?
Your business is left out of Google while online booking is off. When you turn it back on, it is included again without asking support.
