Appointments
Deposits
Take a deposit before a treatment and have it deducted from the bill when the customer checks out.
Overview
Use a deposit when a customer pays part of the bill before their treatment, for example to secure a booking. Bookit then takes it off what they owe at checkout. You can link the deposit to a booked appointment from Calendar → open the appointment → cart icon. If there is no appointment yet, you can add it to the customer's profile as credit instead.
The examples on this page use one customer, Aisyah. She pays a RM 100 deposit by bank transfer, and her treatment later comes to RM 250.
Take a deposit for a booked appointment
- In the calendar, open Aisyah's appointment to see its details.
- Tap the cart icon on the right side of the appointment details.
- Select Quick add deposit.
- Under Payment method, choose how she paid, such as bank transfer.
- In Amount, enter
100. Add a note if you need one. - Tap Save.
The deposit is saved as a transaction linked to the appointment. To see its details, tap its reference number.
Payment methods for a deposit include cash, bank transfer, card and e-wallet.
Check out and use the appointment deposit
- When Aisyah's treatment is done, open her appointment in the calendar.
- Tap the cart icon to start Checkout.
- Add the services or products she had.
- Tap Continue to go to Review.
- Check that the RM 100 deposit appears under previous payments and that Balance shows RM 150.
- Choose a payment method for the RM 150 and complete the checkout.
Take a deposit as credit for a later visit
Use this when Aisyah pays in advance but has no appointment booked yet.
- In the checkout screen, tap Aisyah's name to select her as the Customer.
- Tap the customer profile icon, then tap the + button.
- Enter
100as the amount. - Choose the Payment method she used, such as cash, bank transfer or e-wallet, and confirm.
The invoice now shows that Aisyah has RM 100.00 of active credit.
Use the credit on the customer's next visit
- Add what Aisyah is buying to the cart, for example the 10X haircut package for RM 250.
- On Review, under Payment method, tap Profile credit.
- Enter
100as the amount to deduct, then tap Save. - Choose a payment method for the remaining RM 150, such as e-wallet.
- Tap Pay full RM 150.00 to finish.
How it's calculated
The deposit is taken off the bill, and the customer pays the difference. The calculation is the same for both types of deposit.
| Amount | |
|---|---|
| Aisyah's bill | RM 250 |
| Deposit already paid | − RM 100 |
| Balance to collect | RM 150 |
FAQs
Why didn't the deposit come off the bill?
You probably started checkout somewhere other than the appointment. An appointment deposit only applies when you check out from the appointment it is linked to. Open the appointment in the calendar and start checkout from its cart icon.
Can I add tax or a discount to a deposit?
No. Quick add deposit records the payment without tax or discounts. If you need those, take the payment through a full checkout instead.
Should I link the deposit to the appointment or add it as credit?
If the customer already has a booked appointment, link the deposit to that appointment so it is taken off automatically. If there is no appointment yet, add the deposit as profile credit and apply it on their next visit.
Can the customer pay the rest with a different method?
Yes. You can use profile credit together with cash, card or e-wallet in one checkout.
Where can I see a customer's remaining credit and past deposits?
The footer of the invoice shows the customer's remaining profile credit. To see all their credit top-ups, open the Transactions section of their customer profile.
